Black Crown was one of the first brands to land in Australia when padel arrived to this country. In 2021, we arrived to an agreement with UI Sports and Padel in One to distribute our products in Australia and Japan. Finally, in 2022, we are very happy to announce our first Black Crown club, Padel Gold Coast, and our first sponsored player, Ross Taylor.
Padel Gold Coast was one of the earlier padel adopters in Australia. The club opened its doors on 2016 with 2 courts and 1 single court and it was upgraded to 4 courts and a completely new club house with a padel pro shop at the end of 2021.
Last March 12th and 13th of 2022 took place the big opening at Padel Gold Coast facilities after last upgrade. It was a fantastic weekend full of activities for people of all ages.
The person behind all this project is Ross Taylor. Ross Taylor first met padel back in 2016 when he tried the sport in Sydney. He was rapidly hooked by padel and afterwards he decided to embrace the sport and bring it to Queensland inside one of the biggest sports facilities in this country, KDV Sport.
Ross Taylor started playing tennis at the age of 10 and he is a Tennis Australia and Padel Australia certified coach. Ross is KDV Sport Academy Manager with 15+ years-experience in development of athletes and programs at a performance level. Ross is a member of the Australian National Team, and has represented Australia at 1 World Championships and 2 Asian Cups. Ross is currently the most capped Australian Padel player, representing his country more times than any other player.
Black Crown has always been willing to support padel locally and this new agreement with Padel Gold Coast and the sponsorship of
Earlier this year Australian Padel Federation was merged with Tennis Australia and right after padel was featured in the Australian Open with a court in front of the main entrance. Padel is expected to grow exponentially in the forthcoming years in Australia and we believe that Padel Gold Coast and Ross Taylor will help us to spread our brand nationwide.
